Remember what it was like to make art when you were a little kid? When you scribbled and painted just for the joy of making colors and lines? Back then, you didn’t care about drawing things the “right” way. You just knew that you were an artist, because you liked to make art.
But then, as you got older, you stopped making art. Maybe someone told you that your horse drawing didn’t look anything like a horse. Or, you decided you weren’t talented enough to be an artist, because your paintings looked different from other people’s. Maybe you did take an art class or two, and it turns out that oil painting or figure drawing just wasn’t your thing… but the longing to be an artist is still a bright spark inside of you.
Welcome to a different kind of art class. Bent Tuba Studio offers art workshops for adults who want to nourish that inner creative spark. Learn adult-level art skills in a fun, nonjudgmental environment where your personal art process is respected. All skill levels are welcome—just bring your curiosity and willingness to play.
Each 90-minute workshop centers on a specific project. We’ll get you started with the basic skills you need for each project. Then, with guidance, encouragement, and collaborative support, you’ll be able to complete the project your own way. There’s no way to do it wrong.
With our small class sizes—only 6-8 people per workshop—you’ll enjoy personal attention and guidance from both of us. We (Nicki and Tracy) are trained artists who believe that the power of art-making belongs to everybody. (Seriously, it’s too good not to share.) Read more about us here.
All workshops take place in our art studio in Greensboro, NC, at the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. See our Frequently Asked Questions page for more details.
